Terms of Use
These terms apply to the Rudder iPhone app, the rudder program for your computer and the services we run for them (push gateway, relay, token service). They are between you and YU ZHU. They supplement Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; if the two conflict, these terms apply to the extent Apple allows.
1. What Rudder does
Rudder lets you watch and control coding agents (such as Claude Code or Codex) that run on your own computer. Rudder does not provide, host or call any AI model. The agents are third-party software you install and sign in to yourself; their providers' terms apply to your use of them.
2. You are in control, and responsible
- Agents can read and change files and run commands on your computer. When you approve an action in Rudder, the agent carries it out as if you had approved it at the computer.
- Review what you approve, keep backups, and only pair devices you control. If you lose a paired phone, run
rudder uninstall --purgeon the computer to drop every pairing, then pair again. - You are responsible for the accounts, API keys and costs of the agents you run.
3. Purchases
Rudder Pro and Rudder relay are sold through the App Store. Prices, billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
4. Acceptable use
Do not misuse our services: no attempts to break their security, overload them, use them for anything other than connecting your own devices to Rudder, or resell access. We may rate-limit or suspend access that harms the service or other users.
5. Licences
We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app and the rudder program. Parts of Rudder are published under open-source or source-available licences; those licences govern those parts. The app's open-source notices are listed in Settings › About.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep the services available but cannot promise they will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue a paid service you have paid for, we will tell you in advance where possible.
7. Disclaimer and liability
Rudder is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, code or profits caused by actions an agent took, including actions you approved through Rudder. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Ending
You can stop at any time by deleting the app and running rudder uninstall --purge. We may end these terms if you seriously breach them.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without affecting mandatory consumer protection in your country of residence.
